The Rouvas gorge downhill

Our impressive walk through the Rouvas gorge begins in about 1400 m height above the village Gergeri.
First we walk on easz dirt roads through high mountain area (about 5 km) before we reach the protected natural oak forest. In this forest area, which is 80 % deignated as a nature reserve, there are numerous tree species and various endemic and rare plant - and animal species.

A longer rest offers itself in a clearing, set up as a picnic area, above the gorge.
Here we start the impressive 6 km long descent through the fascinating Rouvas gorge.

This at the same time tiring as well as invigorating trip finds its finale in a beautiful located restaurant near the village Zaros.
 

Medium hike of approx. 5 hours duration (with trip and rest approx. 8 hours)
required: Firm shoes, step stability, condition
children:  Suitable for teenagers over 14 years.
recommended: walking poles
Please think of drinking water, food and a shadow-covering head cover!

Transfer organization with a small bus; maximum group size 15 persons.
